Katie is a volunteer, writer, adventurist and a foster kid.
Katie was placed into care three separate times throughout childhood, beginning at 18 months. Her last period in permanent care was for 7 years. She lived in a total of 10 homes, where she experienced different cultures, religions and values. Katie is currently attending Portland State University as a sophomore, majoring in Psychology. She recently spent two years helping struggling teens in Oregon by volunteering on a state teen crisis line. During her free time, Katie tries to fulfill her mantra of helping people, with the hope that “If all I do is impact one person, then I have changed the world”. Katie is a volunteer, writer, adventurist and a foster kid.
