Growing up and Branching Out

I have my memories. My past. Most of which I would rather not have gone through, but the reality of it is- its who I am. My past affected my present and will affect my future, therefore, it's apart of me.

Despite a hard childhood, I breathe easy everyday knowing that from now on forward, I choose my own steps in life. I can make my own path, and it feels so GREAT.

Closing a Door, but Opening the Window

Wednesday is my last day in this house. I have come to call this small right side of the duplex home. It's going to be hard to leave the people and the memories in Seaside. We're trying to take as many pictures as we can to remember, but it wont be the same.

My last Conference ( maybe)

So I just got back from the Native Teen Gathering that was housed at Linfield College this past weekend. Not being a Native myself ( have only about 1/32 of blood in me) I was very nervous going to the NTG, because I didn't know what I'd be able to bring to the table. How could I be a role model to 26 youth if I don't know their customs, traditions and beliefs?

Footsteps to follow on the path of life

So today, Oregon CASA's all over the state came together for a day event where they requested six All-Stars to speak. We told our stories, and I feel like this was the best event I have gone too, in terms of creating a path of reform and change. Change is good, change is for the better.

Camp Makuala, Dream Boats and Good Eats!

Hey All!

I'm back from the dead! It's been a crazy couple of weeks. First off, I've now been to Maryland for their teen conference in Frostburg, which I'll talk about later. After that, all the All-Stars drove to Capital Hill ( Washington, DC) to speak in congress. It was amazing, and so nerve-wracking!

Where is Oregon Going?

I am so sad that the Oregon Conference is over. It's been a week, and I am still missing my wonderful tribe The Graceful Zen- Go green!

Busy busy busy

Hi everyone!

What a week, I tell ya! I just got back to Seaside last Sunday from almost a week in Tillamook, Oregon. It was BEAUTIFUL there, and even I tried to get some color from the sun, but my legs didn't want to cooperate.

Oh No!!!

Well shoot!

I came back from Portland this morning, because I went home to visit my sister who is in from out of state. I got here at 8AM, and by 8:30, I was not feeling well. I've been kind of stuffed up and sore the past week, but it got really bad today, and I think it's a combo of allergies and a cold, cause my meds aren't working that well.

Training

Hi guys!
Yesterday I had some technical difficulties trying to log into the website, so I had to wait to blog until today...sorry about that!

I am an All Star!

Hi All!
I'm Katie, 18 and the All Star from Portland, OR.

So, it's been a crazy week. I have finals at PSU this week ( go Viks!) so I've been driving back and forth every day, almost. Whew, I love the drive, but it's getting so LONG! Plus, I miss my All Star fam already....
